24 Feb MEET “TROPICALIA” THE BIO-DOME FOR THE CONSERVATION OF LARGEST SPECIES IN THE WORLD.
Located in the north of France, and designed by Cédric Guérin will be inaugurated in the spring of 2021, the largest tropical greenhouse in the world with the aim of preserving some of the species of flora and fauna at risk of extinction.
The Bio-dome will also be a tourist attraction that expects to receive more than half a million visitors a year, who through a unique experience where in addition to being in contact with the species housed there, they will have spaces for hotel, restaurant, Souvenir shop and other attractions for which the creators hope to generate awareness, knowledge and responsibility for nature to visitors in an innovative way.
The dome, which will be 20,000 square meters in size, will be maintained at a constant temperature of 28 degrees and will contain a wide range of species such as: Butterflies, exotic flowers, hummingbirds, waterfalls, water basins, fish, and reserved spaces such as 800 m2 reserved for orchids, coffee, mango and bananas. It will also have 3 natural pools where they will host reptiles, fish, rays, alligators and turtles.
The best thing is that it will have two domes that form an air chamber heated by the greenhouse effect and the land where the dome is located will be 70 hectares, and will be surrounded by a natural landscape, so from the outside the structure will look like A natural Hill.
These types of projects show that we don’t have to wait for a perfect “future” where we can solve all the problems on our planet, and that if private companies, consumers, and governments come together, we can generate positive and sustainable experiences around the world. .
